CLEVELAND
Richard Allen Galvin, 69 years of age, passed away Sunday November 11, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Zajaczkowski) Galvin.A lifetime Cleveland area resident, he was a graduate of Cleveland Extension High School in 1975. Mr. Galvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a truck driver at Copper & Brass in Cleveland from where he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed working out, and was an avid sports enthusiast. Survivors include his son Daniel (Amy) Galvin of Mantua; daughter Rebecca (Kurt) Thompson of Tega Cay, South Carolina; grandchildren Max, Niklas, Quinn and Katharina; siblings Lawrence (Pauline) Galvin of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Randy Galvin of Strongsville, Raymond Galvin, Robert Galvin and Julie Galvin. He was preceded in death by siblings Thomas Galvin, Jr. and William Galvin. No calling hours. Final resting place will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman where full military honors will be observed by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
