Richard Moore's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Richard Moore, 90 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at UH-Geauga Medical Center in Clairdon Township, Ohio. Mr. Moore was God's Gift to Us on May 22, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Walter and Mary ( Kuzma ) Moore, Sr. A longtime resident of the Garrettsville area, he had been employed at Eaton Corporation where he retired from in 1993. Mr. Moore proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.He was a Charter Member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mantua. Richard enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan along with his wife. Spending time with his family will forever be cherished in the memories that he has left for them. On December 22, 1946, he married his beloved wife Ann E. (Rice ) Moore who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted children Daryl Moore of Garrettsville, Linda (Richard ) Hobson of Mantua, Cheryl (Dennis ) Bird of Uniontown, Ohio and Roxanne ( Jeff ) McCullough of Freedom Township; 4 loving grandchildren Kevin, Timothy, Hillary and Nick, and 1 great-grandchild Hailey. He was preceded in death by his brother Walter Moore, Jr. Funeral services will be Saturday June 4, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, 10827 Main Street (Rt. 44) Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Pastor Douglas Riley officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Immediately following family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church. Mr. Moore will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio where he will receive full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church in his name. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
