Richard A. Parmenter's Obituary
RAVENNA-SHALERSVILLE Richard A. Parmenter, 84 years of age, passed away Saturday December 31, 2016 at his residence. Born in Kent, Ohio on August 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Samuel and Frances ( Mitchell) Parmenter. Formerly of Kent, he had been a resident of the Shalersville-Ravenna areas the past 35 years. Richard and his brother Robert operated Parmenter & Sons Tree Service in Kent for many years which was started by their late father. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. A member of the Kent Elks Club, he found enjoyment in gardening with his beloved companion Mary Webb, and the vacations that they took to the beach, as well as the times spent together grilling outside for family and friends. Survivors include the love of his life Mary Webb at their home; daughter Melissa Stewart of Elkins, North Carolina and grandchildren Jesse, Draven and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his son Alan R. ?Ricky? Parmenter on June 11, 2011, brothers Robert and James Parmenter and sister Mary Way. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Final resting place will be at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
