Richard L Tropf's Obituary
MANTUA Richard L. Tropf, 90 years of age, passed away Thursday August 29, 2013 at his home. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 16, 1922, he was the son of the late Louis and Ella (Ebding) Tropf. Formerly of Maple Hts., Ohio, he had been a resident of the Mantua area the past 25 years. Mr. Tropf had been employed as a machinist at TRW, retiring after over 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Tropf enjoyed gardening, loved animals and spending those special times with his grandchildren.Preceding him in death was his daughter Carole Lever, son Jeff Billock and siblings Kenneth Tropf, Eleanor Bridges and Louella Koch, and his special 4-legged children Max, Heidi and Dolly. On June 5, 1948, he married Betty (Hammoc) Tropf who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Rick (Patty) Tropf of Cleveland, Brad (Darlene) Tropf of Twinsburg, Alan Tropf of Parma and Nancy (David) Roessler of Windham, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.No calling hours. A private family graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday September 3, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg with Rev. Roger McKinney officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. In lieu of flowers, donation are suggested to any Animal Protective Shelter.
