Robert G. "Wad" Wegener's Obituary
Robert G. "Wad" Wegener, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his home in Auburn Township, Ohio. Born on April 27, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, Wad was the son of the late Richard and Camille (Shank) Wegener.
A proud 1975 graduate of Kenston High School in Bainbridge, Ohio, Robert carried the principles of commitment and excellence throughout his life. His dedication to his work was evident in his over three decades of service at Buckeye Excavating, where he was not only a valued employee but also a cherished friend to many. His colleagues will fondly remember the delightful aroma of his fresh-baked cookies, a testament to his fondness for baking and his desire to bring joy to others.
Wad's commitment to service and community was deeply rooted in his achievement as an Eagle Scout, an early milestone that showcased his leadership and passion for helping others. His brothers, David (Jane), Timothy (Cheryl), and the late Steven (wife Denise, surviving), admired his steadfast loyalty and the unwavering support he provided to his family. His many nieces and nephews will carry forward the memories of their fun-loving uncle who always had a unique nickname for each of them. Wad also enjoyed cars , especially his Corvette.
As we say goodbye to Robert G. "Wad" Wegener, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
