Robert S Orr's Obituary
HIRAMRobert S. Orr 78 years of age of Hiram, left this Earth on Monday, March 2, 2009 with his longtime companion, Judy Barber, and his family by his side. Bob was born on February 22, 1931 in Kirtland, Ohio the son of the late Delos L. and Elinore R. (Boyer) Orr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Kent State University where he was also an Assistant Professor during the late 50's. He served on the Hiram Village Council during the 60's. Bob ran the Boston marathon twice, and during his tenure as a Boy Scout leader, many Eagle badges were awarded to scouts under his leadership. He also had a special appreciation of nature. Bob worked for several prominent Cleveland Investment firms before retiring in the late 70's. He then started the "Jeddoe Junk and Asparagus-Antiques and Collectibles" where he and Judy made many friends and business acquaintances, as the company became "Orr's Antiques". Bob was well loved and will be sorely missed. He is survived by Judy Barber; his brother, William (Patty) Orr of Twinsburg; children, Mike (Dina) Orr of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Dan (Cathy) Orr of Leslie, Michigan, Kathy (Jerry) Hacker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jenny August of Mantua, and Marianne (Steve) Daczko of Mantua; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Orr and son, Charles Orr. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services; however, the family will announce a celebration of Bob's life to be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
