My Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family. Bob was a great man to do business with , I will miss his smile.Rest in Peace.
Dad and I came to Georgia in 1986 and started IBC Construction where we continued the landscaping and building construction in NE Georgia and South Carolina. Dad was well liked and respected and was very instrumental promoting the growth of industrial and commercial In Lavonia and surrounding counties including Sandersville, Macon, Metter and Byron Georgia. Through the years well over 200 building projects and untold numbers of various smaller projects were accomplished under his watch. So now as I take the torch I will never forget lessons learned from him like “failure is not an option” and what I thought were problems were mearly challenges and when you screw up make it right. Dad and Mom did good raising us 70’s and 80’s kids. We did good most of the time. I think it had a lot to do with us starting by picking up rocks and cleaning out the pig stalls knowing things had to get better if we did what we were told. Dad. Your work here is done. Maybe you will get a brand new backhoe to ride around on up there. Or just a window so you can watch us down here. So now you’re closer than a phone call away. You are in my heart. Love you Dad.

I was so sorry to hear that Bob has passed away. I met Bob through my work with the Franklin County, GA Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Building Authority. I always considered him a friend, a great businessman, and someone that really cared about his community. Few people know how hard he worked behind the scenes on helping to keep our new hospital negotiations moving forward during the worst recession since the great depression. He would call me from Ohio, always with a positive outlook, and make suggestions and/or ask how things were going. He felt very strongly about the future of our community, and about how important a new hospital would be to that future. There are many other examples of Bob's integrity and contributions to our community, and those of us who had the pleasure to know him will remember him for his positive impact. My prayers are with his family and friends. He will be missed.
I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Schwan. It was an honor to have known such a great person and I will truly miss him. May God embrace you in comfort during this difficult time.
