Robert E. Simpson's Obituary
WINDHAM Robert E. Simpson, 86 years of age, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Warren, Ohio on April 26,1929, he was the son of the late Vandell and Garnet (McLeod) Simpson. A lifetime resident of the Windham and Garrettsville areas, Bob was proud to be a Windham resident and conveyed that feeling in his life each day. He had been employed as a painter for Don Wolfe for many years, priding himself on doing quality work. Helping people in any way possible was a quality that Bob will forever be remembered by his family and friends. He lived the "Simpson Way" and cherished his relationships with all who came to know him. On July 29, 1950, Bob married his beloved wife Virginia I. (McCoy) Simpson, a marriage that they shared their love for each other for 55 years, and whose passing took place on May 24, 2005. Also preceding him were his two brothers Charles "Butch" Simpson and David Simpson. He is survived by his devoted children Joyce M. (Jim) Kolesar of Freedom Township, David C. Simpson of Littleton, Colorado and Robert L. (Cindy) Simpson of Windham, his dear brother Van Simpson and sister Phyllis Ellenberger both of Hiram, Ohio 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. His close friend Velma Reed of Garrettsville also survives. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Bob will then be laid to rest beside his beloved Virginia at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio.
