Roger K. Kilbourne's Obituary
HIRAM TOWNSHIPRoger K. Kilbourne, 53 years of age, passed away Saturday December 10, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ravenna, Ohio on February 23, 1958, he was the son of Gerald R. and Mary H. (Flowers) Kilbourne. A resident of the Hiram area the past 13 years, Roger was a longtime Ravenna resident and a 1975 graduate of Ravenna High School. A gifted carpenter, Roger was the owner-operator of Kilbourne Construction the past 25 years. A baseball coach for over 20 years, he was involved with both the Crestwood Youth Baseball organization and Ravenna Park and Recreation League. He coached both of his childrens baseball and softball teams providing a time to share and inspire his children. Roger loved the entire outdoors including hunting, fishing and drag racing at Thompson Drag Raceway. On July 31, 1992, he married his devoted wife Denise L. (Cochrac) Kilbourne who survives at their home. Roger is also survived by his loving children John Kilbourne at home and Breiann (Walter) Cozzi of Cincinnati, Ohio, his cherished mother Mary Hall of Ravenna, his dear sister Kim Kilbourne-St.Hilaire of Ravenna, his caring in-laws Robert and Jacki Cochrac of Hiram and sister-in-laws Christine (Robert) King and Jackie (Steve) McMillen, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends who cared for Roger just as he did for them.He was preceded in death by his father Gerald R. Kilbourne.Calling hours will be Thursday December 15,2011 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua from 4:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M. where his funeral service will begin at 7:30 P.M. with Pastor Gary Beck officiating.(AT ROGER'S REQUEST, PLEASE DO NOT WEAR NECKTIES AND PER HIS WISHES CREMATION WILL FOLLOW THE SERVICES).
