Roger E. Thompson's Obituary
WINDHAMRoger E. Thompson, 46 years of age, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2013 at The Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Roger was born on February 23, 1967 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of Roger L. and Vada (McCoy) Thompson. Presently a resident of Sheffield Village, Ohio and a former resident of North Ridgeville, Roger grew up , and was a longtime resident of Windham, graduating in 1985 from Windham High School. He was employed as a Mortage Underwriter at J.P.Morgan-Chase for 7 years, and had also worked at Majestic Steel in Solon for several years. Roger loved NASCAR and was a World of Warcraft enthusiast. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his smile and positive attitude even during the most difficult times of his illness. On October 9, 2009, he married Leah E. (Hinson) Thompson who survives at their home. Also surviving is his father Roger L. (Tyra) Thompson of Windham, mother Vada Freemont of Mantua, sisters Yvonne (Kim) Fenrich of Mantua and Kimberly (Cesar) Said of Lakewood, and Danni (Garry) Sefcik of Mantua, brothers, Mike and Jeff Freemont both of Aurora and Rocky (Nicole) Freemont of Emmaus Penn., his grandfather Earl Thompson of Windham, step-son Ryan E. Mason serving in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father Roy F. Freemont. No calling hours. Cremation has taken place. Roger was a member of the Windham Bible Church where a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday August 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Fred Youngen officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the ALS Association of North East Ohio. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
