Roy L. Heaton, Sr's Obituary
MANTUARoy Lee Heaton, Sr., 80 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Thursday April 7, 2011 at Regency Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Mr. Heaton was God's Gift to Us on May 3, 1930 in Lumberport, West Virginia the son of the late Jesse L. and Sarah D. (Nickelson) Heaton. A resident of the Mantua area for over 60 years, he was employed as a crane operator at Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Heaton was a member of the Mantua Country Baptist Church, being active in numerous church functions and serving as a church deacon. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. His pastimes included watching the Cavaliers, Indians and Browns, watching air shows, attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and traveling with his wife and sister-in-law Kay Male in their RV. Survivors include his wife Burldine "Dena" (Male) Heaton at their home, sons Edward (Nancy) Heaton of Wisconsin, Roy (Jeanette) Heaton, Jr. of Rootstown and Tim (Peg) Heaton of Twinsburg, his sister Madline Kernes of West Virginia, sister-in-law Kay Male of Mantua and 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward and Lewis Heaton and sister Ernestine McDougal. Calling hours will be Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will be Tuesday April 12, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Murray Bay and Rev. Charles Keiper officiating. Mr. Heaton will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township where military honors will be presented by U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
