Rudy McSwain's Obituary
BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIPRudolph C. "Rudy" McSwain, 80 years of age, passed away Saturday January 28, 2012 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia. Born February 4, 1931 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lindsay N. and Lottie B. (Byrum) McSwain. A resident of Perry, Georgia the past six years, he grew up in Bainbridge Township, following which he resided in the Mantua area for many years. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Johnson Plastics prior to his retirement. Mr. McSwain was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was an avid golfer. Survivors include his sons Gary (Denise) McSwain of Hiram and Doug (Pegy) McSwain of Mantua, sisters Syble (Herb) Zion of Castleberry. Flordia and Marge LaPerna of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 1 son Michael McSwain. Funeral services will be Monday February 6, 2012 2:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Rev. Chad DeLaney officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Mr. McSwain will then be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township where he will receive military honors.
