Ruth Coz's Obituary
Windham Township
Ruth Coz, age 95, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at her home in Windham Township. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Cary (Groborchick) Bobner. Ruth was a graduate of Garrettsville High School and worked at the Terminal Tower as a mail girl, then working at the First National Bank of Garrettsville, and finishing out her career as a Teacher's Aide at Windham Elementary School. On September 4, 1948 she married her beloved husband Lawrence, who preceded her in death in 2018. Ruth enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises with her husband. One of their most memorable trips was traveling to Slovenia to research their family history and ancestry, and connecting with relatives, many of who the family still corresponds with to this day. Ruth also found pleasure in gardening, reading, birdwatching and putting puzzles together. Surviving are her devoted children Dennis (Lilly) Coz of Parkman, Ohio, Gary (Chris) Coz of Uniontown, Ohio, Laura (Oscar) Chaves of Grafton, Ohio, and grandchildren Eric (Tiffany) Coz, Jennifer (Bryan) Granger, Elizabeth (Joe) Fortunato, Rachel Chaves (Fiancee Justin Dombard), Melanie Chaves, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear sister Junerose Carroll (husband Benjamin, surviving). Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, Ohio, 44231, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M.-10:45 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville. Donations may be made in her memory to your local Humane Society or to St. Ambrose Parish.
