I loved Aunt Ruth so much. I secretly wished I was adopted by her and Uncle Steve as a child. I was so in love with the life of a Dairy Farmer, animals everywhere to love on. Ellie and I rode Buttercup (cow) and pretended she was a horse! Then Uncle Steve bought Ellie Speed, a beautiful Paint horse! Aunt Ruth was always preaching God but I didn't mind. She always made a person feel welcome and special. Aunt Ruth had the best memory. She would tell me how Charles Sitko was recruited by the VanSwearingens to come to America and start Republic Steel! Also that Charles brothers built the Panama Canal! Such rich history, and Aunt Ruth knew it all! I always wished she was around all the time to tell me more rich family history. Another story was that Val (Grandma) Sitko wanted to stay in America, even though she didn't speak English, but that Charles (Grandpa) Sitko wanted to go back to Poland. My parents lived in Uncle Steve's farm house their first year of marriage (before Aunt Ruth and Uncle Steve did). I always shared Aunt Ruth's love of all animals. She'd have a lot of them, and even some in the house! I remember when she and Uncle Steve snuck milk straight from the cow into my store bought milk, waited for me to drink it, then they told me! Funny trick! Aunt Ruth was lucid up to the end, and I am so glad she did not suffer. I love you Aunt Ruth, Uncle Steve, Stevie, Maureen, Ellie, and Johnnie. Peace be with you in this difficult time.....
