Ruth M Studer's Obituary
AURORA Ruth M. Studer, 86, a lifelong resident of Aurora, passed away May 22, 2016 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Known for her independent and hard-working nature, Ruth owned and operated High Wind Ranch stables since 1954 until the time of her passing. Beginning as a public livery stable she also provided horseback riding services to the Centerville Mills YMCA and former Aurora Recreation Services, later transitioning to a breeding and show operation for Appaloosa horses, and eventually a boarding facility. Ruth was the original organizer of the Aurora Mustangers 4H Club which was taken over later by her sister-in-law, also named Ruth Studer, which remains active as of today. Ruth's passion was her farm and her horses. Although she never professed or acknowledged being a mentor or coach, she led by example and her legacy is the many youths and adults who she inspired to a life-long involvement with horses. Born on September 25, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Jeannette (Hildebrand) Lewis. Ruth was a friend to many, and her passing will leave a void in the lives of both family and all others who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her children Ruth A. Studer of Beloit, Ohio and Howard (Peggy) Studer of Aurora; grandchildren Kym (Mike) Seabolt, Dawn (Leo) Fertig, Ryan (Jenny) Dustman, Beth (Mike) Moser and Michael Studer, and 10 great-grandchildren. No calling hours. Private family services are being held. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
