Sandra "Sandee" Malisiak's Obituary
MANTUA Sandra "Sandee" Louise (Holyak) Malisiak, 71, passed away at her home on Thursday October 10, 2013 with her loving husband Dave ever present by her side. She was born in Adena, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Helen (Bodak) Holyak on January 5, 1942. She is one of twelve brothers and sisters. She graduated from Adena High School in 1959. Moved to the Cleveland area in the early 60's and then to the Mantua area in the mid 60's. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, David Malisiak of 51 years whom she married on August 25, 1962. Her two daughters, Sharon (David) Berish of Mantua, and Stephanie (Nick) Teibel of Solon; her grandchildren, Daryl (Becky) Malisiak of Round Lake, Il; Matthew (Heather) Malisiak of Shalersville; Samantha and Courtney Berish of Mantua; Bradley and Megan Holmes of Solon; and great-granddaughter, Kinley Malisiak of Round Lake, Il; Mother-in-Law Stella Malisiak of Adena, Ohio; along with many other family and friends. Sandee was preceded in death by her brother, George Holyak; sister, Carole Jeskey; father-in-law Joseph Malisiak; brother-in-law, Richard Malisiak and son, Duane Malisiak. Sandee was a smart, beautiful, loving wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed RV'ing and traveling throughout the United States with her husband, Dave. They've visited every state except Alaska. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors along with bird watching and enjoying the wildlife in her backyard while viewing the Cuyahoga River. She was a big fan of NASCAR along with rooting for the Browns and the Indians. She worked at Samuel Moore/ Furon / Saint-Gobain / Eaton Corporation for over 25 years before retiring in 2007. She was also the owner of the Pioneer Tavern in Aurora back in the late 70's and early 80's. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Mantua. Special thanks to the Hospice of Western Reserve for helping us take care of her at home. Also special thanks to our own special nurse; Debbie Brinkmann who helped us guide her through to the other side. Family and friends may call on Monday October 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, S.R. 44 at Pioneer Trail, Mantua; and where prayers will take place Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Mantua with Father Michael Garvey officiating. Her final resting place will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township following mass. Following the burial, a luncheon will be provided at the Knights of Columbus, S.R. 44, Mantua to celebrate her life.
