Sharon L. Sommer Genske, 74 years of age, passed into eternal rest surrounded by devoted family on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was born August, 30, 1946 to Carl P. and Louise H. Sommer in Cleveland, OH and raised in Solon, OH.
She was a homemaker until 1976, member of the Burton Volunteer Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary from 1968-1978, and 30-year employee of Kinetico Water Systems in Newbury, OH.
Sharon will be remembered for her love of hummingbirds, hot air balloons, car rides, listening to country music, and watching HGTV. She took great joy in cooking family favorites for gatherings and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her longtime partner, Greg Bowser and loving children, David Genske, Jr., Deanna Genske (Charles Davis) and Debbie Zinsky (Ed); Siblings Carl Sommer Jr. (Sue), Greg Sommer (Lydia D’Amato) and Susan Sommer; grandchildren Nicole Pavella (Owen), Jessica Genske, Zach Zinsky, Bobby Davis, and Lukas Zinsky, and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by both parents, Carl P. and Louise H. Sommer and youngest sibling, Shelly Spetich.
No calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
