Smitty D. Howington's Obituary
MANTUA Smitty D. Howington, 65 years of age, passed away Monday September 26, 2016 at University Hospital-Geauga regional Medical Center in Clairdon Township, Ohio. Born in Richlands, Virginia on July 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Floyd and Elva (Whitt) Howington. A resident of the Mantua area over 30 years, he formerly lived in Tazewell County, Virginia where he graduated from Rochlands High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. Smitty had been employed at 84 Lumber for several years, and had been a painter of several Bob Evans Resturants. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, socializing and playing his guitar. Survivors include his longtime loving companion Marjorie Martin of Mantua, son Joshua Howington of Toledo, daughter Michelle of Florida, sisters Lori (Tom) Cline of Spencer, Ohio and Dee (Jim) Davies of Toledo, brothers Wayne (Gail) Howington of Deerfield and Monte (Jan) Howington of Virginia. No calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday September 30, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio with Full Military Honors being provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard team, assisted by Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
