Sophie A. Danner's Obituary
GARFIELD HTS.-MANTUA Sophie A. Danner, 96 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Friday April 5, 2013 at Agape Hospice in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Mrs. Danner was God's Gift to Us on April 17, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Sophie (Jankura) Sambor. A former longtime resident of Garfield Hts., and Mantua, she moved to South Carolina in 1987. Sophie was employed as a cook at Anne Marie Nursing Home in Aurora, prior to that as a cook at St. Alexis Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Sophie will be remembered by her family for the enjoyment she found in cooking, sewing, gardening, playing cards and the years of love she shared with all of them. Sophie will be sadly missed by her devoted daughters Marian Drummond of Clover, South Carolina and Lee (Donald-"Buzz") Gallagher of Mantua, her dear sister Mildred Yaromey of Painesville, and her joys, loving grandchildren Ed (Carla) Drummond, Mike (Jeanie) Drummond, and Karen (Jason) Stuber all of South Carolina, Donna (Scott) Moegling of Twinsburg and Diana (Gregg) Maretka of Mantua, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, brother Frank, and son-in-law James Drummond. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where prayers will be said Thursday at 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday April 11. 2013, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Leo J. Wehrlin officiating. Sophie will then be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio.
