Stephen Olszak's Obituary
STREETSBORO Stephen Olszak, 88 years of age, a resident of Streetsboro since 1954, passed away Monday August 30, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born on March 2, 1922 in Slovan, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Andrew and Agnes (Dubtat) Olszak. Mr. Olszak was employed as an electrician at Ford Motor Company retiring in 1981. He was proud to have served his country in World War II in the U.S.Navy, being present on D-Day. He was a member of the Goodyear Fishing & Hunting Club in Mogadore. On July 14, 1945, he married Dorothy ( Berdjar) Olszak who preceded him in death on July 27, 2008. He also was preceded by his sister Sylvia Jablonski. Survivors include his sons Daniel (Sharon) Olszak of Mantua and Kenneth (Linda) Olszak of Ravenna; daughters Beverly (George) Horsfall of Mantua and Barbara ( Dennis ) Hoffert of McDonough, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. A graveside funeral service will be Friday September 3, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Palmyra West Cemetery with Rev. Richard Sliver officiating, following which Mr. Olszak will be laid to rest with Military Honors.
