Obituary
STREETSBORO
Steven R. Wegener, 64 years of age, passed away Thursday August 30, 2018 at his residence. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on November 24, 1953, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Camille (Shank) Wegener. Formerly a longtime Bainbridge Township resident, he was a 1973 graduate of Kenston High School. Mr. Wegener was a resident of Streetsboro the past 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Employed at Rotek in Aurora , he retired in 2015 after 28 years of service. Steve will be remembered for his earning the rank of Eagle Scout in his early youth, and as being a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan, avid NASCAR fan, the times of camping and boating with family, and a man who could fix anything….a true “Jack of All Trades”. Yet those who mourn his passing will always cherish their memories of a great, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all. His love for them can only be duplicated by their love for Steve. On August 16, 1975, he married his beloved wife Denise A. (Depew) Wegener who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted children Mark (Allison) Wegener of Eastlake, Shawn Wegener and Michelle Ulatowski both of Streetsboro; his dear brothers Dave (Jane) Wegener of Bainbridge Township, Bob “Wad” Wegener of Auburn Township and Tim (Cheryl) Wegener of Gastonia, North Carolina; 6 loving grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends. Cremation has been held. Memorial visitation will be Thursday September 6, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. where his memorial service will begin at 6:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Robert York. Military honors will follow by members of the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. A time of fellowship will immediately follow at the First Baptist Church of Streetsboro, 9001 St. Rt. 43, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241.
