Obituary
MANTUA
Sylvia J. Hejl, 69 years of age, passed away Thursday February 7, 2019 at University Hospital- Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township, Ohio. Born in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania on June 19, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Helen (Blystone) Carney. A 1967 graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, she had been a Mantua area resident the past 8 years. Mrs. Hejl had been employed as a technician at AT&T in Cleveland, retiring in 1989 after 19 years of service. Gardening, fishing, boating , the Big Easter celebrations were some of her interests, yet Sylvia’s love for family, and their love for her, will forever leave lasting memories of this very special lady. On May 13, 1989, she married her devoted husband Joseph F. Hejl who survives at their home. Also surviving is her beloved daughter Josette Carney of Cleveland; her dear siblings Dick (Mary) Carney of North Ridgeville, Terry Carney of Elyria and Gloria (Rick) Carney of Cleveland; her cherished 4 legged daughter Shadow at home; her beloved step- childen Keith (Donna) Hejl of Mantua, Bryon (Dan) Hejl of Cleveland, and Jessica (Brad) DiMond of Aurora; her loving grandchildren Valerie, Toby, Jr., Ryan, Matty, Ethan, Grayson; and great-grandchildren Veronica, Johnny, Amya, and Wesley, Jr., and many other loving extended family members. She was preceded in death by her loving grandson Jamie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44 (South of Route 422), Mantua, Ohio 44255, where her funeral service will be held Monday February 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with additional visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.
