Tamara "Tami" Cook's Obituary
RAVENNA Tamara "Tami" Cook, 46 years of age of Ravenna, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Born June 14, 1963 in Garfield Hts., Ohio, she was the daughter of Detmer and Sandra (Ruble) Shaffer. Tami was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, Virginia, following which she attended John Tyler University in Chesterfield, Virginia. A longtime Ravenna area resident, she was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Rootstown. She enjoyed Elvis and was an avid baseball fan. Tami approached life with a smile, and never complained about her struggles, concerning herself about the well being of everyone else, and showing her love to all with whom she came to know in her 46 years. On June 14, 1987 she married Randall "Randy" Cook who survives at their home. Also surviving are her father Detmer Shaffer of Zelienople, Pennsylvania, her mother and step-father Sandra and Alfred Wilson of Dinwiddie, Virginia, brothers Thomas and Amy Shaffer of Mantua, Timothy and Debi Shaffer of Diamond, Paul Wilson of Petersburg, Virginia and Brian (Melody) Shaffer of Hiram and her sister Stacey (Dan) McCall of Hopewell, Virginia. No calling hours. A graveside funeral service for Tami will be Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11:00 A. M. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, with Bishop Nathan Jepson officiating, where Tami will then be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Fast Offering Fund of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints 1321 Sandlewood Oval, Kent Ohio 44240. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
