RAVENNA-SHALERSVILLE On Thursday September 28, 2017, Teddy (Ted) Ray Cook, 86 years of age, passed into the loving arms of our God in the comfort of his home he shared these last few years with?his son Darin (Denise & family).?He was born in Pineville, West Virginia on May 10, 1931 to?the late Lela C. Cook and Gracie?Dameron?Cook, and has resided in?Shalersville?for the past 53 years.?Retired from Ford Motor Company?at the Walton Hills Plant in 1988 as the Plant Superintendent. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a life time member of?Kent?Lunker?Luggers?Bass Club finishing in the top 10?for?many years. He was a loving husband,?father,?brother, Grandpa & Papaw He married his devoted and loving wife Peggy J. (Counts) on November 3, 1962. They shared 43 years of marriage before her passing on September 8, 2004.?Family meant the world to him. He loved everything about Christmas time, the meaning behind it with Christ's birth and getting the family together. Especially seeing the grandchildren.?He and Mom Cook hosted?Christmas Eve and he continued these traditions even after her passing. Also making sure hand written Christmas cards were selected, filled out and sent. (With help) He is survived by his loving children; Son's David?(Brenda) Cook of Temple, Georgia, Darin (Denise) Cook of Shalersville, Daughter?s Vevvene?Mertz of Stow, Trina (Ray) Collier of Shalersville; Daughter in law Kim Cook of Ravenna; Grandchildren, Evelyn ?Cricket? (Tom) Kafides, David?Cook, Mike (Sara) Cook, Kristen?(Mike) Loucks, Lindsey (Chuck) Mills, Rachel (Bill) Tharp, Jared?Cook, Andrea (Neil) Ruark, Megan Loske, Edward?Loske, Ally (Mike) Brode. Katie Cook, Micky?(Amber) Cook and?Derrick?Cook; 24?Great grandchildren; Siblings?Betty Minnick, Dixie (Jerry) Lusk, Naomi (Dale) Lawson and Jim Cook. Also?surviving?him?are?many?loving?nieces,?nephews,?cousins & friends. He was preceded?in death by?his?loving?son Ricky B Cook in 2015, and infant son Larry Cook; brothers?LC Cook,?Raymond Cook,?and?Bob Cook.?Although we are truly heartbroken we know he is rejoicing with the Lord and those that have passed on before him. We are also thankful to those who went the extra mile by visiting, caring, calling or sending cards. We?will be forever grateful for your love, loyalty and kindness you showed our Dad,?it meant the world to him. Also to the staff & Dr. Scott Smith of TLC & Dr.Frank Kelley of UH for their compassionate care over the years as well as?UH Hospice the past few months, and special caregiver Theresa. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, and on Wednesday October 4, 2017 from 10:00 A.M . until 11:00 A.M., where his funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Barry Shahan. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shalersville Township, Ohio.
