Terry L. Moreland's Obituary
Terry Moreland, 74, of Hiram, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2026, at his home.
Terry is survived by his four children: Troy (Debbie) Moreland, Tracie (Bob) Quiggle, Tadd (Amy) Moreland, and Tim (Danielle) Shattuck, along with many grandchildren who loved him dearly and were the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Kim) Moreland, Linda (Randy) Cumbie and Chris (Gerri) Moreland and their families.
Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lynda Canfield Moreland, his parents Peggy Land Moreland and Robert Moreland, his stepmom Judy Moreland and his stepson, Monty Shattuck.
Born on September 28th, 1951 in Jamestown, NY, Terry graduated from Mayville Central School in 1969 and received an Associate Degree from Jamestown Community College in 1978 while raising his young family.
Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War - receiving a Certificate of Achievement as a Specialist 4. While he was a master of many trades, he spent most of his career in the trucking industry retiring in 2019 from PetroChoice, where he served as a fleet supervisor.
Known for his warm smile and fantastic sense of humor, Terry proudly claimed the title of "the first nut on the family tree." His grandchildren were his world-he attended every event he could and, when he couldn't, was always their biggest cheerleader from afar, sending texts filled with encouragement and words of wisdom.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org) or Little Fork Ranch in Ernul, NC.
