Thelma Nelson, 79 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Friday June 29, 2018 in Burton, Ohio. Thelma was God’s Gift to Us on December 29, 1938 in Chapmanville, West Virginia the daughter of the late Solomon and Oma (Workman) Mullins. A resident of the Hiram Rapids area for over 55 years, Mrs. Nelson had been a member of the Mantua Country Baptist Church. She was employed at Swagelok for over 20 years until her retirement. Thelma was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter, and loved camping with her family. Her family was most important to Thelma, and their memories of mom and grandma will forever be cherished. On February 4, 1956, she married her beloved husband Victor Nelson who preceded her in death on April 1, 2012. She is survived by her devoted children Bennett (Debra) Nelson and Patricia (Robin) Cline both of Hiram, Carla (Ed) Drummond of Clover, South Carolina and Tim (Sue) Nelson of Dayton, Ohio; her dear sister Zelma Taylor of Auburn Twp., 13 loving grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday July 2, 2018 (TODAY) at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., where her funeral service will be Tuesday July 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Murry Bay. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp. Ohio.
