Thomas M. Ahrens' Obituary
SHALERSVILLEThomas M. Ahrens, 65 years of age, passed away Saturday December 28, 2013 at his residence. Born in Ravenna, Ohio on December 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Carl and Stella (Socha) Ahrens. A lifetime Shalersville resident, he had been employed as an installer in the HVAC industry. Tom honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Tom enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, and was a member of the Ravenna Thunderbirds. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna. Survivors include his loving sister Elaine Ahrens of Shalersville, dear brothers Kenneth and Richard Ahrens both of Ravenna and other cherished family members. Calling hours will be Monday December 30, 2013 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday December 31, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ravenna with additional visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Rev. William Kraynak will officiate, with final resting place to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township.
