Thomas Goff's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLEThomas F. Goff, 68 years of age, passed away Sunday November 6, 2011 at his residence. Born on August 18, 1943 in Chardon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Horace and Greta (Thompson) Goff. A longtime resident of Burton, he was a Garrettsville-Freedom Township area resident the past 40 years. A. U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Era, he was a member of the Windham American Legion Post No. 0674, also holding memberships in the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3332 in Garrettsville and Teamsters Local No. 407. Mr. Goff formerly was employed at CFL Freight Lines in Cleveland and Blair Cartage in Ravenna, following which he worked for 8 years at the Save-4 in Shalersville until his retirement. He enjoyed making wood models, crossword puzzles, playing the lottery, "his lawnmower" and mowing the yard to perfection and the special times spent with his grandchildren. On May 15, 1965, he married Bertene (Callaway) Goff who survives at their home. Also surviving are his daughters LaDawn (Bill) Cramer and Laura (Bob) Gushura both of Freedom and Annette (Ray) Collins of Nelson and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Zimmer and Grace Goff. Calling hours will be Wednesday November 9, 2011 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where Military Honors will be presented at 7:00 P.M.
