Travis L. Rickard's Obituary
SHALERSVILLE Travis L. Rickard, 65 years of age, passed away Monday November 4, 2013 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, West Virginia. Born on May 9, 1948 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, he was the son of the late Earnest L. and Gladys A. ( King ) Rickard. A longtime resident of the Shalersville area, he had been employed at Eaton Corporation. Mr. Rickard was a U.S. Army Veteran An avid reader about the Civil War, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Western movies, and spending special times with his wife. On May 31, 1974, he married Madonna " Donna " Rickard who preceded him in death on September 14, 2013. Also preceding him was a grandson Joseph Davis. Survivors include his children Bruce (Pam) Davis of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Brian ( Melissa ) Davis of Manassas, Virginia, Matthew ( Janet ) Davis of Rawlings, Maryland, Marcia ( Ron ) Fonseca of Englewood, Florida and Tommy ( Julia ) Rickard and Tabatha ( Boe ) Rathbone both of Tennessee, brothers George ( Nancy ) Rickard of Edgewater, Florida, Joseph ( Donna ) Rickard of Lorain, Ohio, sister Linda Holocker of Lorain, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will be held Friday November 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville, where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
