Obituary
MANTUA
Vincent D. Luce, 89 years of age, passed away Saturday April 3, 2021 in Lenoir, North Carolina. Born in Aurora, Ohio on April 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor (Fisher) Luce. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Luce had been employed as a carpenter at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio from where he then retired. Vince was a great storyteller, and had a wonderful sense of humor. His quick wit, and the ability to always have a comeback on the tip of his tongue, were trademarks of his personality. Vince enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, travel, and was a Cleveland Browns and especially the Cleveland Indians fan. Family was very important to Vince, and in his later years spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought light and life to him. A proud grandfather, Vince would tell you just how special they all were, sharing stories to support his boasting. On July 16, 1955, he married Marie A. (Fejes) Luce who preceded him in death on October 4, 2016. His sister Gertrude Nagy, brother Leonard Luce, great-grandchild Mira Putnam, and sisters-in-law Eleanor Remen and Suzann Lorentz also preceded him in death. Vince is survived by his children Dennis Luce of Mantua, Rose Marie (Mitchell) Thompson of Hudson, North Carolina, and Deborah (Mark) Partin of New Bern, North Carolina. His grandchildren Benjamin (Elena) Putnam, Timothy Putnam, Allison (Chris) Lyell, Justin, Eric and Stacy Partin, and great-grandchildren William and Amelia Lyell, and Sophia Putnam also survive. In addition his sister-in-law Cynthia (Ron) Gill of Garrettsville survives. Visitation will be Saturday June 19, 2021 from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will then begin at 11:00 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio. His video tribute, condolences and memories will be able to be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
