ROOTSTOWN
Vivian J. Horvath, 77 years of age, passed away Saturday December 8, 2018 at her residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Joan (Rybka) Pallo. A 1959 graduate of Crestwood High School, she was a former longtime Mantua area resident, living in Rootstown the past 15 years. Vivian had been employed as a bus driver for the Crestwood School System for 10 years, and was the owner-operator of HanCraft from 1985-1990. Over the years, Vivian was active as a volunteer including at the St. Joseph’s Ox Roast, and for the Portage County Board of Elections as a poll worker. She enjoyed sewing, was well known for her love of playing bingo, and was a true animal lover to many of God’s creatures. Vivian will always be remembered as a lady with a huge heart for everyone, and while her passing leaves a void in the hearts of family and friends, the memories that she created will forever be cherished. On June 20, 1959, she married her beloved husband William A. Horvath, Jr, who survives at their home. Also surviving are her devoted children Tom Horvath of California, Paul (Sandi) Horvath of Aurora, John Horvath of Rootstown, Eileen Osborn of Rootstown and Annette (Rick) Fulton of Iowa; 8 loving grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and her dear 4 legged child “Pepper”. She was preceded in death by her loving son William Horvath III and her brother Melvin Pallo. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. A Celebration of Life service for Vivian will be Friday December 14, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Hope Community Church, 3033 Middleton Rd., Hudson, Ohio 44236, following which a reception at the church for family and friends will take place.
