William Fairbee, Sr's Obituary
WINDHAM William Fairbee, Sr., 82 years of age, passed away Friday January 22, 2016 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Bon in Freedom Station, Ohio on December 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Millard and Erma (Venear) Fairbee.A lifetime Windham area resident, he had been employed at Harbison-Walker in Windham, retiring after over 40 years of service. During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Fairbee honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, and following his discharge he held memberships in the Windham American Legion and V.F.W. He was a 32 years member of AA and a longtime member of the Nelson United Church. Bill enjoyed camping, bowling, softball, horseshoes and being outdoors with his family and friends. On October 16, 1955, he married Marlene Fairbee who preceded him in death on July 11, 2013.Also preceding was his daughter Theresa "Terri" Driesbaugh in 2003, and his brother Jack Fairbee, sister Eleanor Kovel, and grandchildren Kyle and Marlena.Survivors include his children William Fairbee, Jr. of Goshen, Indiana, Robin (April) Fairbee of Xenia, Ohio, David Fairbee of Windham and Paula Turk of Newton Falls; siblings James Fairbee of Windham, Erma Lou "Cookie" of Texas, Bonnie Cox Fairbee of Florida, and Nancy Sue (Bill) Smith of Kent. He leaves his loving grandchildren Erica, Bill, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jessica, and 9 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday January 26, 2016 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. where military honors will be given at 8:00 P.M. by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, assisted by members of Windham American Legion.
