William S Hunter's Obituary
SHALERSVILLE-MANTUA William S. ?Bill? Hunter, 89 years of age, passed away Friday August 12, 2016 at his residence. Born in Charleston, West Virginia on March 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Mundy) Hunter. A resident of the Shalersville-Mantua areas the past 65 years, Bill was self-employed as the owner of Hunter 7 Sons Masonry. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Minnie the Western United States, their cruises and spending time in Florida. ? Pops" favorite hobby was ?Work? which he prided himself in the virtues of quality craftsmanship and fairness to those that he provided services for. Bill proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. On December 24, 1949, he married Minnie (Barker) Hunter who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Donnie (Linda) Hunter of Shalersville, Rick (Patty) Hunter of Ravenna and Joan (Todd) Muhlfelder of Mantua; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 sons Ronnie and Scott Hunter, and 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.Bill will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Respectively serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons Jeremy Hunter, Jason Hunter, Joshua Hunter, Nick Hunter, Chad Hunter, Todd Muhlfelder and Daniel Jones. His family would like to extend a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for the immediate care and support that they gave Bill and his family.
