William Stewart's Obituary
RAVENNA-SHALERSVILLE William S. Stewart, 89 years of age, passed away Tuesday April 5, 2016 in Ravenna, Ohio. Born April 3, 1927 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Evans) Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a longtime resident of the Ravenna and Shalersville areas, and had been a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna. He had been employed at Chrysler Stamping in Twinsburg as a press operator until his retirement. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Stewart enjoyed doing puzzle books and watching the activities of his grandchildren.He also was a member of the Mantua Knights of Columbus. On June 21, 1952, he married his beloved wife Joan C. Stewart who preceded him in death on December 8, 2014. Survivors include his children Debra (Daniel)Rearick of Old Saybrook,CT., Donna (Dale) Mertz of Ravenna, Dennis C. (Barb Steed) Stewart of Alliance and William R. (Karen) Stewart of Ravenna; his sister Pauline Edgerton of Wampum, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren. No calling hours or services. Cremation has been held. Final resting place for Mr. Stewart and his beloved wife will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village, Ohio. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
