William C. Wigand's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE William C. Wigand, 84 years of age passed away Monday December 14, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Wigand was born on June 20, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Carl and Thelma (Dyer) Wigand. A resident of Shalersville for over 35 years, he had resided in Garrettsville the past years following a decline in his health. Mr. Wigand had been a mechanic at Heritage Ford in Aurora, Hills Radiator in Burton and at Car Quest in Mantua. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wigand had served as a member of the Newbury Police Department. He enjoyed racing midget cars and boats and spending time with his family and grandchildren. On April 14, 1969, he married Clara M. (Cummings) Wigand who preceded him in death in 1997. Also preceding him were his brothers John and Carl Wigand. Survivors include his son William J. Wigand of Garrettsville, daughter Shirley (Roy Bowden Jr.) Tomsick of Nelson Twp., grandchildren Ashlee, Jacob, Audrey and Billy Jr. and great-grandchildren Caylee and Aidan. Funeral Services will be Friday December 18, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
