Wilma F. Alexander's Obituary
MANTUA Wilma F. Alexander, 82 years of age of Mantua, passed away Saturday January 30, 2010 at The Woodlands at Robinson in Ravenna. Wilma was born on November 29, 1927 in Ravenna, Ohio the daughter of the late Harold and Rosemary (Smith) Dean. A lifetime resident of Ravenna and Mantua, Wilma owned and operated with her late husband Charles, Alexander's Grocery & Tavern in the 1970's at Mantua Corners, and was co-owner of the previous Riverview Restaurant in Mantua from 1978-1990. Wilma was active in the Ravenna Moose Ladies Bowling League for many years and was a lifetime member of the Ravenna Moose Chapter No. 1234 Golden Moose. Wilma loved playing cards, especially Bunko, traveling to Las Vegas and West Virginia where she held memberships in the "Platinum Mountaineer Club" and the Vegas Gold Club". Wilma gave a new meaning to "Shopping", and not only could she take orders for a living, she could give orders! On November 16, 1956, she married Charles W. "Choo Choo Charlie" Alexander who preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her was her grandson Matthew Mishler in 2003 and her brother Danny Miller. Survivors include her sons Michael (Karen) Alexander of Mantua, Steve (Liz) McDaniel of Ravenna and Woody (Karen) McDaniel of Brimfield; daughters Lori (Scott) Mishler of Mantua and Linda (Clarence) White of Ravenna; brothers Harold Dean of Ft. Jennings, Ohio, Bob Dean of Cape Coral, Florida; sister Catherine Doak of Citra, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday February 4, 2010 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Wilma will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, Ohio on Friday February 5, 2010.
