Dagmar M. Skodis' Obituary
Now, I have completed my mission here on earth only to join my Heavenly Father. I was born July 9, 1930 to Mary and Lou Fidler.
At the age of 18, I went to Europe and spent three months in Czech Republic and Prague. In 1948 I graduated from Holy Name High School and married George Pekarek in 1952. My true happiness and fulfillment in my life began on July 13, 1956 when my daughter, Judy, was born. It was one blessing after another, then having a granddaughter named Jennifer. Life then was a completed circle. We three had gone on trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and had a great time.
In 1968 I remarried, to Charles Skodis and lived in Parma for two years. We moved to Mantua with daughter Judy in 1970 and lived in Mantua for the next 55 years.
I enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing and my two girls; working outside and life in general. I worked at Taylor in downtown Cleveland for four years from 1948-1952, in the billing department. Later, I worked at Akron City Children's Hospital, sewing blankets for them and I joined a club of Red Hats.
I leave behind a sister-in-law Millie, and was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jerry Pekarek.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua,on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
