David Usher's Obituary
David Usher of Mantua, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, whom he loved with all his heart, on November 29th at the age of 85.
Born to Carl and Marjorie Usher, David grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and hard work that shaped the man he became.
David was a devoted husband to Janet, his beloved wife of 60 years. Together they built a life marked by faith, love, and steady devotion. He was a cherished father of Randy and his wife Bernice (Turner) and Anita and her husband Kirk Ressler, a proud grandfather to Samantha, Shane, Cory, Zack, and Austin, and a joyful great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Usher and his wife Liz of FL and sister-in-law Wanda Usher of NC.
David worked alongside his father and son for over 65 years as they built Usher Painting LLC, a business he took great pride in and serving others was more important than making money. His hands were rarely still, whether he was perfecting a brushstroke or tending to his well-loved vegetable garden. Gardening brought him peace and joy in watching the things he cared for grow.
A man of deep faith, David was a longtime member of Parkside Church, where he faithfully served as an usher for 30 years. He loved his fellow ushers dearly and considered them among his closest friends.
David will be remembered for his kindness, steady spirit, and unwavering love for the Lord. His legacy lives on in the family and friends he treasured and in the many lives he touched through his gentle service.
Services will be held at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua. Visitation will be Friday, December 5th from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 and on Saturday, December 6th from 10:00-11:00, immediately followed by the Funeral service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Lunch will be available after the cemetery.
