George Mendiola II's Obituary
George Mendiola II, age 62, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, from a thunderclap aneurysm. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, George lived life with warmth, humor, and a deep love for his family. He shared 25 beautiful years with the love of his life, Laurie. Together, they created a bond full of laughter, adventure, and joy especially in their retirement years, traveling and enjoying the simple pleasures of life side by side.
George was a proud and loving father to Nicole (Anthony) Hedberg, Taylor Mendiola, T.J., Leah, and Ashley Ebright. He was also the beloved son of Karen Mendiola (nee Neff) and the late George Mendiola, and a devoted brother to Beth Mendiola and Debbie Mann. He found immense joy in being "Pap" to his grandchildren Mya, Hailey, Madison, Payton, and Ivy, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Known for his passion for deer hunting and his signature storytelling style, George had a gift for making people laugh with his stories and jokes; especially “Tim Buck Two”, if ya know ya know. Whether it was with a cold Natty beer in hand or around a campfire sharing tales, he made those around him feel welcome and appreciated.
A celebration of George’s life will be held on Friday, October 17th from 4–9 PM at Corners Catering, 11845 Rt. 44, Mantua, OH. Friends and loved ones are invited to come together, share memories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
