MANTUA
James Edward Godley, Jr., 84 years of age, passed away Friday February 16, 2018 following a period of failing health. Born in Dearborn, Michigan on October 9, 1933, he was the son of the late James Edward and Velma (MacDonald) Godley, Sr. A resident of the Mantua area for the past 25 years, he was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Godley was an avid fisherman and hunter who always enjoyed the outdoors. On September 9, 1995, he married Rhonda L. (Price) Godley who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Bret( Terri) Godley of Mantua, Lori (David) Sillanpaa of Perry, Ohio and Stephanie (Michael) Hardiman of Crown Point, Indiana; siblings Thom Godley of Sand Coulee, Montana, Sandy Harrison of Tallahassee, Florida; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Jolyn Tully. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where condolences and memories may be shared at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com. A Celebration of Life party will be held on Saturday March 17, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Sentinel Party Center 11845 State Route 44 Mantua, Ohio 44255.
