AURORA Kathlyn Brown, nee Mazzotta, 67 years of age passed away on October 2, 2016 after a short stay at Hospice House in Medina. She lived most of her life in Aurora, Ohio. She was born on August 2, 1949, to the late Phyllis Mari Read Obituary
Kathy Brown was unforgettable: always gracious, very professional, and so classy. She and I interacted in our roles at Kent State University, and we shared a love of the French language and libraries. I enjoyed being around Kathy. She left us far too soon! My sincere condolences to her husband, family, and friends.

To Kathy's family, my deepest sympathies. I know how much Kathy's energy, vitality, and positive, CAN DO attitude inspired and brought so much joy to your lives. I recall her sharing how much fun and laughter she shared with all of you over the holidays last year. May your memories of her love for life and for each of you sustain you. I will miss my dear, dear loving and life-giving friend. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Byron, I am so sorry
I remember her both as my French teacher in junior high and then again is the librarian in high school. Funny thing is I actually had an innocent "crush" on her when I was a student in her French class during junior high. Very sorry to hear of her passing... God bless.
Mlle. Mazzotta was my favorite teacher at West G. Even helped her out during my study hall. ❤️French because of her. Sorry to hear of her passing.

We did not know Kathlyn very long, but sure enjoyed her. We will always remember the visit to your home and seeing her at the Deed House. She wrote an article for the Advocate for the American Legion Auxiliary. She will be missed.
The positive spirit who was Kathy charmed all with her wonderful personality and kindness. She was a very good friend to me and I was very proud to be her friend.
In spite of her ongoing battle with cancer, over the last few years, she gathered herself and found joy in each and every day. Her respite was her continued passionate involvement in her community and her love of nature. If she wasn't enjoying her horse, Lilly; time with her friends and family; day trips to the country with her husband Byron; she was enjoying a drive in her BMW at the highest speed she could get away with!
Kathy's gift to all was her ability to share a positive view of life through her eyes and make all of those around her feel comfortable and smile.
I miss you my dear friend and I am grateful for all the good times we shared and the memories we created.
